It is possible to bypass without the TR-7. I personally don't know how, but my boy did it in his Mazda. He has the wire (no switch) he touches to the cig lighter metal and he does the brake dance and presto he bypasses the vid block.
The little dance you would do without the TR-7 is apply the foot brake and parking brake, release the parking brake while holding down the foot brake then pull it up again after that then release the foot brake.
So this is essentially +12v on the foot brake and parking brake inputs, float the parking brake input while still applying +12v to the foot brake input, then apply +12v to the parking brake input again. Then float the parking brake input.
This is what your buddy is doing with the cigarette lighter and foot brake.

Hmmm sound a lil biut simpler than trying to install this TR-7. Wel I guess I'll find out soon. My HU is out for delivery as I type. I'm getting nervous... lol.

Mission Complete....
Got the system in nice and flush with the TR-7 working perfectly. Got too late to do the steering wheel controls so that'll come later.
