Looking for tips for the install. Things to look out for. I'm doing the tr-7 and steering wheel controls also. Hey MEAT I know you installed a few, any suggestions?

if you dont want to buy a bypass you can just wire up the brake to a switch...also label your rca's in the back so if you need to hook up something later you dont have to pull the whole thing apart

The W200 bypass doesn't work in this manner. There's a little dance you have to do with the footbrake and parkingbrake, hence the need for the TR-7 bypass from PAC.

Make sure you get the proper G35 specific wiring instructions for the steering wheel controls. They are available on the PAC website.

You also need a Nissan antenna adapter.

You might want to purchase a wiring harness adapter.

I installed mine a few months ago so hit me up if you have any questions. It's pretty straight forward.

I definitely recommend hooking up RCAs for aux input and output and just leave them tucked under the dash or behind the pax kick panel. As stated above you won't have to pull everything out again if you decide to expand your system in the future. To get the head unit flush it's real tight in the back with all of the harnesses and wires.

Yeah my buddy didn't buy the bypass so he has the strange dance he has to do to get his to play on the move.

I have everything in hand except the HU and Steering Wheel controls. I've even printed the G35 specific instructions. My main concern bypass and SWC to work and then gettign it flush.

I was think of getting a RCA jack and flush mounting it somewhere out of site for quick access. I saw someone do this in the Maxima Forum.

as far as getting it flush, on my deck MAX675DVD I had to redill the mounting holes on the bracket about 3/8" back so the deck would sit flush. On the stock brackets there's a 4 dimples in the metal to locate the deck. you need to pound these flush to slide the deck back. The easiest method I found was to put it in a bench vise and squeeze it down flat.

For the SWI-X it's easier if you solder on the resistors to the wires and make an extension then use t-taps to connect to the stock harness. Not much room to do the soldering on the car. I put the control box under the arm rest area, between the shifter. There's a lot of room there. Programming the thing is a little tricky at first. You need to time all the button pressing as you only have a few seconds to do each program. Install the LED on the center console near the shifter pointing straight up. It'll reach the deck even if it's not pointing at it. The SWI-X is not all that great, yeah it works but there is a slight delay unlike the stock deck which is instantaneous.

Alpine decks can bypass the video lock but it takes two switches and a song and dance to get it to work. The pac unit might be a good addition in this case.

Get the Ipod adapter even if you don't have an Ipod. you'll want one trust me. It's the best thing I like about my setup. Having 500 CDs on tap is great. I don't even use the DVD/CD player or radio for that matter. Ipod is the way to go.

Good idea, that's what I always do it's a time saver. Do the harness adapters and stuff off car.

Are you using amps or the deck for your speakers? if it's amps I would recommend you still hook up the speaker connections on the harness. That way incase you need to takeout an amp if it breaks you can quickly hook up the speakers to get some sound and won't have to tear into the dash again.

From what you expalin about the SWI-X it doesn't seem to appealing. The one I ordered SWI-Jack said it was a new version where there was no need for the infared anymore. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4266&rd=1&rd=1

Yeah I already have iPod full speed cable. That was my main reason for even going with the alpine unit. I wated the 7" Kenwood, but I see now they even have a full speed cable. I just don't care for kenwoods user interface. I had a kenwood in my last car and though it worked it was just ugly to me.

The Alpine Ipod cable is great!

You definitely don't want the SWI-X, get the SWI-ALP.

and what does the switch do??? are you using the PAC TR-7 bypass and then switch it on and off with the switch??? There's no way to bypass the Alpine with just grounding the parking brake input.
