After saving up for a while i am gonna buy my sound system sometime this week, and wanted to know what you guys though about what im getting.

Im Planing on Buying:
2 12" Alpine Type R w/ T10001bd rocksford fosgate

And i already have installed in the G coupe:
Alpine IVA-W200 touch screen Doubble DIn Conversion
Alpine Theather Amp 5.1 surround sound w/ Coaxial cable
Alpine Center channel
Alpine Blackbird with Dock to IVA-W200

so what do you guys think of the type R's with the 1000 watt amp. anybody have a similar set up or could give me an idea of how hard this is gonna knock.

 

Keeping the rest stock?

I think it will sound like garbage with 2 12s and stock speakers. I only have one 10 with JLs and the 10 is turned down a lot.

 

Upgrade the stock speakers. I had two 10 JL Audio W3V2's and the bass was really nice but sometimes I could barely hear the vocals clear. I purchased a nice component set from one of the members here and just purchased to 12 W6V2's.

 

^+1 upgrade your stock speakers it will make a big difference. Try some CDT's.

 

instead of the RF amp look into the Alpine PDX1.1000, it's a great amp. Very efficient and small, it's so tiny compared to other 1000w mono amps. Great sound quality too, it's a clean amp.

 

alright, ill look into some speakers, any suggestions on what kind. anymore comments on the type if subs im getting

 

i have jl zr's and boston pros...along with the same setup as you minus the 5 channel amp, i have 2 sep amps

 

get 1 jl 12 or 10 and that will be enought if ur keeping it stock
jl is the best

 

i think if you're on a budget you should buy my Up6's. =)
But yeah speakers go a long way since you took the blose unit out, i'd get speakers before i get the sub. But then again running new speakers w/out an amp to power them is a waste too.
