03 double din a/c controller question

Hi guys/gals, as you can see I'm a noob here and also a new G owner. I want to get the DD conversion kit and I was reading up on it. Now my question is about the a/c controller...I see people soldering on the dual climate button and I don't completely understand why they have to do that...is that an optional install or it must be done? my stock a/c controller doesn't have the dual button so I'm kinda confused. Also one last question about the DD finisher...is there a difference between the one with the navi and without? Your expertise will be greatly appreciated!

If your car car did not come with dual climate, than you don't have to do any soldering. The DD finisher is the same with or without navi.

JDM AC controller is necessary because the factory head unit and ac controller share a circuit board.
