Quick AMP question

So, im looking into upgrading some of the audio in my G. Im not really into the subs, but i am going to replace the speakers, and i want to put a new sub in to give them more power (i don't have the BOSE audio). Now, i don't know a whole lot about this stuff, so im just wondering do i need a 2,3, or 4 chanel amp? Thanks!

Re: Quick AMP question

The simplest and cheapest route would be to get aftermarket front speakers, a sub, and a 4-channel amp. Power the front speakers with the first channel pair of the amp, power the rear fill with the head unit, and power the sub with the second channel pair bridged mono.

Or you could just get a 5 channel amp and power everything also. The 4 channels for mids/highs and one channel for your sub. I think JL has a 5 channel 1000 watt amp if I m correct
