Navigation warm-up and flickering?
To people with OEM Navigation (i have a 2003.5 g35s). Does your screen need "warm-up" time? Like when I turn my car on, the navigation screen is REALLY dark.. but in 2~3 minutes, it comes to normal brightness.
Another problem is the screen switches from Day/Night time for NO REASON time to time.. it just flickers into the Night mode. Yes the headlights r off, and NOT on the auto position. I took a video of it and will be taking the car into the dealership.

the day/night flickering is not normal. headlights on auto would be my only guess but if they're in any other mode, sounds like it's a bug. my screen usually takes about 30 secs. to warm up. it is pretty dim at first but i think this is normal with LCD components.
I have not experienced the Nav going from night/day mode by itself before, as most of the time I have my lights on AUTO anyway. But when they are turned off, it stays on the selected mode (ie DAY)
When my car sits in weather below 50degrees the LCD gets extremely dark, and say if I get in to drive and early morning communte and it's in NIGHT mode it's almost unreable. If I need to read it I switch it DAY mode. That combined with the car warming up bring the screen up to operatin temp in about 2mins or so. I've ?'d the dealer about this and he went and talked to a tech. They both felt it was normal behavior for an LCD screen.
I suppose if you take you LCD computer monitor and leave it outside overnight, it would take a little while to brighten up.

ok ok.. let me update this thread in case others have this problem in the future..
So took the car in for flickering.. they changed the LCD screen, now there is no warm-up time.. but it flickered..
Took it in again... changed out the Brain/DVD player... still doing it..
Took it in for the 3rd time.. changed the buttons... still doing it...
In the shop currently.. i figured out that it only does it when I have the right blinker on.. i have NO clue what's up now.. I hope the Tech can figure it out!!
