What is your entire audio plan?

Are you going to use the AVIC-D1 with the Bose amp and speakers? I'd avoid using the Bose amp.

I just did my system and left the stock head unit but like Gilley said eliminate the Bose system completely if possible. If you are tryin to keep the car as stock as possible you will need the PAC steering wheel controls and the radio harness as well if you are not changing door/deck speakers you will be all set.

ok so like i said i want to just put in the AVIC-D1 and leave everything else
STOCK

so do i ned the PAC AOEM-NIS2 unit? and scoche wiring harness?

has anyone ever used the Metra harness code 70-7551? here's the link

http://www.metraonline.com/product_l...l=G35&type=ALL

click on the pic with the double harness.

i went to the audio shop and they told me that this has the wire harness in it as well as amp inergration it has 2 rca plugs on each harness.i believe the rca plugs plug into the factory amp...which is where???

since i've never seen or read about this product i am a little hesitant on using it.
i dont want to install it and have hissing noises and general noise in my speakers

this will clear up alot for me since this is the whats confusing me the most

To do the DD swap, you need the JDM trim piece, the JDM A/C controller, Nissan antenna adapter, and the Nissan wiring harness adapter (for power and speakers.) You will also need an appropriate PAC steering wheel adapter for Pioneers.

The parts listed on the page of that link will work (http://www.metraonline.com/product_l...=G35&type=ALL), except the next to last (70-7551) because the Bose amp does not use RCA plugs. It uses automotive connectors. BTW, the amp is located to the left of the spare tire.

If I were you, I would use the Pioneer's internal amp power, run wires all the way to the trunk, and connect into the outpur wires from the Bose amp to the speakers. The Bose amp has funky EQ curves built into it and isn't a powerhouse at all. The Pioneer outputs 22 watts x 4 continuous.

Better yet would be to add a small multichannel amp in place of the Bose amp, then you could use the wiring harness with the RCA connections.

The following info will help your installer connect to the correct Bose wires in the trunk.

BOSE WIRING COLORS AND SPEAKER SIZES

Factory speaker harness wiring colors

Front Right + Gray/Silver
Front Right - Yellow/Silver

Front Left + Green/Silver
Front Left - Red/Silver

Rear Door Right + Brown/Silver
Rear Door Right - Black/Silver

Rear Door Left + Green/Yellow
Rear Door Left - Black/Yellow

Rear Deck Right + Blue/Red
Rear Deck Right - Blue/White

Rear Deck Left + Blue/Yellow
Rear Deck Left - White/Green

Head unit output colors

The (+) are all on the same side of the connector.

Head Output Front Right + Orange/Blue
Head Output Front Right - White/Blue

Head Output Front Left + White
Head Output Front Left - Orange

Head Output Rear Right + Blue
Head Output Rear Right - Pink

Head Output Rear Left + Teal
Head Output Rear Left - Purple

Remote Wire Light Blue/ Silver

You are welcome.

Are you doing the install yourself? Do you have the JDM finisher and AC controller?

they re on they're wy as we speak ....yes i'm going to do it with the help of some friends who have had the pioneer navi series since they first cam out , they know all about the deck
my part is to find out everything i need to know about the car.
the anntenna adpator ...does it spilt into 2 or is just one wire cause the guy at the shop didnt know exactly which one it was his reference book was giving him a double answer ..
one more question .....i know there are certain wires that need to be hook up so everything on the deck works ...i think something like VSS wire? its for the car diagnostic on the pioneer i believe .

I don't know anything about the Pioneer wiring.

For the antenna adapter, you need the aftermarket radio to diversity antenna adapter, PN 40-NI10 on that site.

we have the diversity antenna in the car, so you need the adapter to go from the diversity antenna to an aftermarket radio.

To find the Bose amp, take out the trunk carpet to get to the spare tire. To the left of the spare tire is a plastic piece. The Bose amp is under the plastic piece, bolted upside down to a metal bracket.

I removed the Bose amp and mounted my JL amp on top of the Bose metal bracket. I had to trim the plastic piece to fit, but if you get a smaller amp, it may work without trimming.
