Wiring the Sub and Amp Help Needed!!

Just curious as to where you guys ran your wiring through from the battery to the back? Did you drill holes or what? I m having my stuff installed and the car is leased so I want this install done as neatly and stealthy as possible...Any tips? Do's and Donts? Thanks appreciate the help

On the passenger side under the windshield wiper cowl is a large rubber grommet. Carefully pierce it and drop your wire into the passenger compartment. you'll have to remove all the plastic parts around the battery and windshield cowl on the pass. side

There are directions for getting the wire inside, then just run in under carpet to trunk...
hope this helps... and also...

When i cut into the top of the rubber gromet in the engine i tried to make the smallest insicion possible on the top not around the ring or bottom, and water still came inside even after covered nicely in electrical tape... i eventually bought some GE silcone 2 in black, and covered the electircal tape with it... it fills the gaps and seals it all... now all is good, and no water comes into the cabin!

Any other ?'s

Peace

Hey thanks Eric...Well instead of questions, what do you think I should tell the installers who are doing the install. I just dont want to have to deal with any mistakes you know. So I'd rather get it all done with. Thanks I appreciate it

Even though there is a hood, and then a battery compartment cover, and seals around it... when you wash your car or it rains hard water will get in there so tell them the gromet has to remain waterproof because water will douse it occasionally... and it will end up on the passenger side floor if not taken care off!

Re: Wiring the Sub and Amp Help Needed!!

I found it better to NOT cut the grommet. The grommet on my sedan was conneced to a 4" long rubber tube, all gummed up with sticky sealant tape. I unwapped all the sticky tape, the inserted my 4 Gauge amp power cable right into to tube. I then sealed to whole assembly back up with electrical tape. No leaks. No need to piece the grommet.
