NAV bracket

I don't have NAV, but I'm thinking about installing an aftermarket unit. Is it possible to install the factory nav bracket where the current cubby is and place the LCD screen inside the bracket? Has anybody tried this yet? I also heard that the Double Din comes with a nav bracket too. I'm wondering if that will work...

Re: NAV bracket

Theres a bunch of other threads already on this topic with pictures of people who have done it...

You can buy the plastic housing for the NAV for about $12, but the whole up and down mechanism will cost you over a grand.

Re: NAV bracket

I installed a screen using the stock Nav lid. Check the two threads:

Re: NAV bracket

Hey Alan,
i know that you have been working on your nav screen from the multiple threads that you have been posting in. i just got my nav screen installed but it does not go down very well and needs some work. i was wondering if you were able to get the nav bracket to go completely down and what kind of work it required you to do.

Re: NAV bracket

Hey, nice job on the screen. If you want the nav bracket to sit further down, you'll have to cut away at the inside of the cubby hole. I cut the whole bottom out to make it sit upright. To adjust the height, I put a standoff on either side for the screen to sit on. As far as making it go up and down, I did my last attempt this past weekend to motorize it. Didn't work, I'm frustrated with it and am going to leave it like it is.
