built in radar detector?

My uncles G35 sedan and my mothers Lexus SC430 has a built in radar detector (to my knowledge, they are the same detector). Does the coupe have one as well...is it an option...? Thanks guys!

my mom has two little LED bulbs that come down from the dash (in front of the speedo) and my uncles is the same way. He told us when he bought his car that for $1000 more, they added another detector (something that looks like a ring or surround to a front plate) and they guaranteed him no tickets. If he recieved one, they would pay it (if it was a reasonable ticket....)

I'm not sure how true it is, but I know my mother's built-in has saved us a couple of tickets...

**I'll take some pictures**

it was probably a dealer installed extra item. Falls in with the car paint protection (like simoniz, miracle shield, etc), tire/wheel insurance, extended warranty, etc etc.

You can have that installed by any decent car audio/security store.

I know that some places offer K40 radar detector installation. Where sensors are mounted around the car and wired directly above the steering wheel column. But these are not dealer options, but merely an aftermarket option.

Dealer installed. Never heard of a mass production car that comes from the factory with any radar system built in.

Here are some pictures to show you. These are from my mothers SC430. I won't be able to access my uncles G35 sedan...

i think those lights are for the sensors on the pumpers. More like a parking sensors so u don't hit other objects when parrallel or so.

Nope, you would think, but, I was cruising down the road, and they started going off... next thing I know, there's a state trooper sitting on the side of the road clocking cars. They are radar detectors.

I've seen this done before, but its usually a lot of aftermarket fabrication or else some off the wall kit.

There is probably a sensor at the front and rear of the car if you look for it and the brains of the unit are most likely stuffed away somewhere.
