I hooked up my alpine nav/dvd. When i try to use the video input i hear sound but i receive no video. This is after the screen stops saying "the picture has been disabled"

Has anyone experienced this problem, and how do i fix it.

Might it have something to do with the vss signal? Since the car is not moving i don't think this should be an issue

 

What did you hook the parking brake and foot brake wires to?

 

I have the footbrake connected to a toggle switch connected to a power lead.

The e-brake is connected to a toggle switch, that is connected to a ground lead.

I do the necessary steps to simulate what alpine is looking for. Foot brake on, e-brake on, e-brake off, e-brake on, foot brake off.

That sequence disables the picture off safety feature. From there i recieve only a blue screen that seems to me there is no video source
