How do I know if my car is prewired for this? I have a 2004 g35 sedan with the premium pack(bose radio).
My dad is going to get me it for christmas and I am looking for the best price and the equipment I need. The dealer quoted 500 dollars for the parts and 400 for the labor. No way am I going to do that. I am also going to put the attenna on the rear deck. I was looking at the bose sub the other day and noticed an extra wire that is not hooked up to anything. Could that be it?

I am thinking of buying it from www.infinitipartsusa.com. They say to make sure your car is prewired.

Get it from inifinitipartsusa.com, DON'T let your dealer take you like that. XM/Sirius is prewired into your car if you have an '04. Labor shouldn't be more than $25, in all honesty. You can do it yourself, but take it to Circuit City, etc. because it's SUCH a simple install that I'd trust them to do it. I had a non-prewired sedan and had parts + install for under $475.

Here's my question.....I have a 2003 G35 coupe with the Bose system. I didn't get the Sirius feature (i didn't like that antenna near the sunroof...but now i regret it, sort of) but there is a "SAT" button on the system. Is there any other way to tell if the car is prewired?

 

Open your driver's side door, and look for a sticker along the inside of the frame that says it's prewired. It'll be an obvious sticker if it is...

If the last 6 digits of your VIN are after 321894 on the sedan or 210827 on the coupe, then your car is prewired.

You don't have to put the antenna on the sunroof. I put mine on the rear deck and it works fine there.

 

Me too...put it on the rear deck.
The antenna is so "ugly looking" that I didn't want it on the glass or the trunk.

Will the antenna fit in the rear deck on the coupe? I am having difficulty getting it to fit.

Mine is a coupe. I don't understand how you're having difficulty making it fit, can you explain? If you take the antenna as-is and just lay it on the rear deck so the the wires point towards the driver, it sits back there quite easily. For a real clean install I will probably remove the rubber grommet and replace one of the child safety anchors.

I removed the child safety anchor and it worked perfectly. Otherwise it would have been a tight fit with the 3rd brake light and the 2 anchors. I have the XM OEM kit. Thanks.
