Will stock navi work with double din headunit???

Will stock navi work with double din headunit???
I Just purchased a kenwood DDX-8017 for my 05 coupe but I also have the stock navi. I just read somewhere that the navi will not have any sound if I take out the stock headunit. Is this true??? Is there a way to make it work?

That is true. There's a thread on my350z on how to do it. You need to wire an extra speaker.
