Very noobish question (not familiar with any G35 electronic/speakers stuff):

If I wanted to change the HU, for example, like this one... I can still keep the stock bose system and it will not interfere with any of my AC controls?

Also, would it affect anything else such as my bluetooth?

.

yeah the unit is great. The changing of radio stations is very annoying tho because you have to touch the screen twice just to change channels!!! Also no steering wheel input on this unit so you need to use the swi-x, which sucks. Those are the two big negatives that jump out at me. But other than that, i love the 6disc, the interface is 10 notches better than the eclipse IMO, and best of all i got this unit for $800ish from an authorized internet dealer!!

u can keep your bose but you still need a new AC controller regardless.. plus all the double din goodness.

You also need an add-on for bluetooth, it does not automatically come with one.

i htink there were a few negative reviews for this site, i actually found them from the pioneerelectronics.com main site that gves u a list of authorized dealers.

but looks like they are out of stock and have it for retail price at this point. I got it when they had a special on the unit a whle back, i think a few others on this forum might have saw it too and jumped on it. Actually it was $896.06 shipped.

I have the same unit. I had no complaints until the other day when the noise supression filter on the RCA line out blew for no reason; in typical Pioneer headunit fashion. Fortunately, I got it from an authorized vendor so warranty was covered. Still, Pioneer has LONG had problems with this in their entire car audio line and its obvious they still do.

no, mp3 playback is only supported via CD. Dvds wont work for this. This is outlined in the manual. I'd get an ipod and the ipod interface available. Its well worth it. You can control your ipod through the touch screen and keep the ipod hidden away someplace like the glove compartment. I don't even bother with cds anymore. The 6disc changer is full of DVD movies instead. all music goes through the ipod or radio.

did u modify it to allow watching dvds while driving? I'm curious to know where people mounted the switch for this.

Hence the question, anyone figure out a way to play mp3's on a dvd disc? Is it even technically possible somehow someway? Or is it just utterly impossible to modify.

It's not possible. Hence my answer of "no".

Thanks. Excuses my electrical noobness when it comes to the car

A few more questions if you don't mind.

1) New AC Controller as in (electrically) internally? You still get to keep to stock look of the AC controls right?

2) What happens to the audio controls on the steering wheel? Anyway to keep that fuctionality?

Thanks for any help. There doesnt seem to be that much information to search around for in this forum.
