I have a similar setup, but I have the DDX 7017 and the KNA-G510. I really like the Garmin navigation. I also got the driver and passenger side 4080 boxes woth 10w6's. I like the added bass going from one 10" to 2.

You will definitely want to upgrade the other speakers. Component in front and coax in the rear sides will do nicely.

Is the Kenwood KNA-G510 Remote-Mount Navigation a stand-alone that will work with any touch screen?

I've got a 1000/1 on my 12W6 at ~2/3 gain. It sounds great but I can't keep my mirror up.

You can run your oem mids/highs for now but upgrade them ASAP, you will be much better off.

No, only certain Kenwoods.

According to Kenwood, it connects to
KVT-817DVD, KVT-717DVD, KVT-747DVD, KVT-M707
KVT-617DVD, KVT-647DVD
DDX6019, DDX8017, DDX7017
LZ-702W, LZ-800W

Limited connectivity is available to
XXV-05V, KVT-915DVD
KVT-815DVD, KVT-715DVD, KVT-745DVD
DDX7015, DDX7045, DDX6017

http://www.kenwood.com/usa_europe_asia/kna_g.pdf

According to Crutchfield's website, the Kenwood data above isn't up to date, as the newer 7019 and 8019 are compatible with the KNA-G510.
