MB Quart/JL Audio Installed

Thanks to my friend Jimmy, he helped me replace the stock speakers and amp with MB Quart QSD 218.61 components and a JL Audio 300/4. What a big difference! Stock speakers made my CD's sound like FM radio, now I'm hearing different instruments I haven't heard before LOL! My highs and mids are so bright and lively now! Just want to highly recommend these components to anyone shopping for new front speakers. The Ven4 converter worked very well also, for those that want to keep the Bose head unit. Now to look for a sub/amp combo Here are a few pics:

eBay
I wonder if an 8w7 would be a sufficient subwoofer for the G?

Depends on how much bass you want. I'll vouch for the 8w7 sounding incredible.

Enjoy the music. The JL/Quart combo once dominated the competition circuit.

Take care,

Re: MB Quart/JL Audio Installed

I just read your post on an upgrade of the G35 stock speakers. I actually just got a set of MB Quart 6.5" components aswell but had a horrible time figuring out how to mount them. Could you tell me how you mounted the speakers? Did you mount them in the same location as the original speakers and if so, how did you screw them in ? Mine dont fit the holes that the stock speakers had, the screw hold locations for the stock speakers are way too far out for my woofer to be mounted in them... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Re: MB Quart/JL Audio Installed

The Ven4 line out converter is needed to hook up an aftermarket amp to the stock radio.

Yes. Please find out. I am thinking of doing the exact install you did, and would like to make sure that everything fits the way it should. Also, did you use the 300/4 to power your entire system?

Re: MB Quart/JL Audio Installed

I'll also vouche for the 8w7's.. I got 2 of them installed in mine and they sound incredible along with JL 500/1 and 1F Cap.. less space consumption than the equally good 10w6 too... I'll take some pictures here soon of my ride and post them with that stuff and the future upgrades planned:

Fronts & Rear Deck
- Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5 Components (Rears will be plate mounted in 6x9 spot.
- JL 300/4
Head Unit:
- hoping Pioneer AVIC-N1 comes out 1st of March so I can finish this project
