500/1 i was also looking at the polk sr104 that 4080 has recomended but i haven't heard much about them and would rather keep the amp and sub brand match because they are built to work with each other.

5001/1 with only 1 sub, go with 10w6v2

500/1 with dual subs, go with 2 10w3v2

having the same brand for sub and amp doesn't mean it works best w/ each other. u can mix and match. i have 10w6v2 and i was going to get 500/1 but it's a lil bit too weak for the sub. generally, you're suppose to overpower the sub by 100-200 watt. that's why i got the Alpine PDX 1.600 amp.

the nice thing about jl's is that you can get them in multiple ohm setups...so worst case you can run a 2 ohm setup with your 4 ohm mono amp which would give you double the output

JL amps have the same rated output regardless of whether your ohm load is 4 ohms or 2 ohms, so you won't get double the power from 2 ohms compared to 4 ohms. The Alpine PDX amps are like that too.

500/1 - 500 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm - 4 ohm (11V-14.5V)
