Why replace the garbage factory head unit with another one? Unless it's free of course.

Why replace with factory

Well, if I can get one used for a couple of hundred dollars , why not.

I just don't have the cash for an aftermarket, where I would be looking at a cost of $700 min....................without installation.

It will fit just fine. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a used one though.

It may physically fit in the dash, but I'm pretty sure the pin-outs from the radio to the Bose amp and subwoofer system were very different in 2003. Even the plug for the Bose amp is physically different, > 26 pin in '03 versus 24 pin thereafter, etc.
