I recently got a bone stock 2003 G35 Coupe and damn do I like the sound it makes. I don't doubt that it could be improved with an aftermarket exhaust, but for a stock system it does sound very nice in my opinion. Of course my last car was a 2002 Toyota Sequoia with the 4.7, a very dull sounding vehicle.

I've had friends comment to this effect as well, one of them said it sounded like a [rear] mid-engined car, for whatever that's worth.

Other than the looks, that's the most notable thing about the car.

I used to feel the same about my G35 exhaust... now that I have an Yamaha R1 with Akropovic exhaust, my car sounds so weak and silent. I don't think any exhaust system in the world will solve this problem and make it compare, so I guess i'm just going to have to settle for the consolation fact that the car can be used to commute in the rain.

I guess he did mean the stock exhaust. I was thinking he just meant the sound. Anyway, yeah, stock sounds good, but amplifying that sound by sending it thru a more free flowing system obviously helps.

I love the unique sound of the stock exhaust. So glad Nissan/Infiniti put some effort into making it sound like SOMETHING rather than simply muffle the sound down as much as possible like most other cars.

Of course my Fast Intentions sounds pretty sweet too, but in stock form it's not that bad.

Yup. I can hear when a G is pulling up. It's like my spidey senses were tingling.

And yes we do have a pretty sweet sound even at stock. Gotten a few compliment from people who've sat in my car. The girls always wet/**** themselves when it gets past 3k RPM. I guess that's what happens when they've always rolled in civics

It's always an FX35 in my case lol, which seems to have the best note.
