Carputer / CarPC wiring help
Hey guys, just picked up a carputer from another member on the board. Everything should be ready to go, just need to be wired up. Does anyone have instructions or links for this? The main problem I'm trying to figure is how to supply power to the carputer. It came with all the wires pictured:

The RED wire is 8 gauge power wire which has a crimp connector on one end.
The smaller BLACK wire is 8 gauge ground wire which has a crimp connector on one end.
The larger BLACK wire is 4 gauge wire. No clue what this does.
The GRAY wire looks just like a USB printer cable. The carputer was originally sold with a Xenarc monitor which I didn't buy. Maybe this was used for that?
Also, I have a power inverter, is there a way I can retrofit this to use AC/DC? It would be nice to be able to switch from a carputer to a standalone computer.

I hooked mine up to the main 12vdc wire going to the ignition switch, and then to the ignition wire also. There were two wires needed on my M2 power supply.
I'm running a very small setup though, so I used ~18ga wire.
It looks like your setup is designed to go directly to the battery. Make sure you fuse properly it at the battery, otherwise it can be a fire hazard.

The power supply has 5 wires that lead to the pin-out.
Red - Power
Black - Ground
White - Ignition?
Small Red - LED light
Small Black - LED light
I think it's pretty basic, but I just wanna make sure so here's some noob questions.
I went and picked up the pin-out connector at Fry's today along with an AC receptable which allows the use of a typical 3-prong outlet plug. Anyone know how I can make this work? Do I wire the power to the left or right prong on top or both? I think I might pick up another pin-out connector so I can switch from using it in the car and in the house.
Does the pc shut down like a normal desktop or do they normally have some type of software that let's it know to shut down properly when you turn the ignition off?
Anyone know the the 4 gauge black cable that was included is for?
