Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me figure out what this. I bought my 06 coupe used and not sure exactly what this mod is, but I have something under my drivers side dash that has a glowing green LED, which never flashes but stays green. There also seems to be some kind of switch on the back, but not sure exactly what it is. Help please. Its just kinda buggin me not knowing what it is.

 

May have been to an aftermarket alarm.

I think that's what the guys at the dealer told me, but half the time i don't believe them cuz they are full of ****, (aka one of them told me that the tire pressure light could get activated by having low tire tread, and i'm an engineer and know that's bs). Anyway if it is and after market add on to the alarm how can I figured out what it does, or even if its on? I already banged on the windows with the alarm on, fyi.

jees that's some ugly work. yes, looks like a/m car alarm LED. i'd relocate it back under the cover. just unscrew those 2 screws and hide it.

You are right I will prolly relocate it.

Also there is a switch on back and when i flip it is flashes but its a random pattern.

I think he measn aftermarket alarm. Like others have said, it looks like the led for an aftermarket alarm and the switch is to manually switch the alarm off (i.e. so the alarm will not arm itself when given to a valet).

Does the car have an aftermarket alarm or just the stock one?

 

I'm not quite sure, as I bought the car used, I assumed it had a factory alarm, but it may have an after market alarm as well. DOes the factory alarm have a kill switch?

 

i know what it is. It's a switch with a light on it. You don't need to Sherlock Holmes to know this. As for what it does? It does switch type things. Mystery solved!
