Question Time for Sound

Ever since the accident I have been driving around with my passenger side speaker disconnected since it was broken during the accident and never got replaced. It is finally time for me to start working on the sound system for my car, and I was hoping you guys could point me to the right direction.

For starters lets go over what I have. My G is a 2003 Sedan, no navigation, no sat, and the BOSE sound system. I am a very frequent iPod user, and for the time being I have been using Monster's tape player adapter since this type of connection seems to allow me to make my iPod alot louder than using an FM Transmitter.

I am not looking into any crazy loud system, nothing with thousands of watts of power and head-splitting bass. I really think 1 10" in the trunk would be enough for me. I am keeping this on a fairly tight budget [gotta keep in mind i have college to pay for first] so i am going to keep the stock HU for this setup. I do want to upgrade the speakers, since I would have to do this for the front anyway.

So based on all this, what recommendations can you guys throw me. Is it worthwhile to upgrade the rear speakers, or should I just do the front? Should I upgrade just the speakers for the front or tweeters also. What is an affordable company to look into ?

Thanks in advance guys.

What is on canal street ?

My budget is around $500 [if possible], and I would prefer to do the install myself just so I can learn as I go along.

I know that the stock speakers are 2-ohm, so what If i upgrade the fronts to a 4-ohm component system, and leave the back the stock 2-ohm Bose speakers, what would the problem be. Better yet what is the actual difference between 2-ohm and 4-ohm.
