Had this problem with your Escort Passport?

My Escort Passport 8500 x50 radar detector does this thing where it will all of a sudden shut down and restart itself immediately (and sometimes doesn't restart itself unless I take it out and plug it back in).

Has anyone had this problem? I want to get Invisicord so I can mount it up on my mirror and get rid of the coil cable... so basically I want to know if this is a problem with the detector, or maybe just with the wire. If it's a problem with the wire, Invisicord should fix it.

Anyway-- anyone deal with this before and know what it might be?

Thanks!

also, for a long time my x50 has been doing this thing where it will pop up a laser warning whenever i go WOT... it's happened enough times with this pattern that i know there's no laser! just when i floor it, it bleeps LASER!!! so annoying.

also, it goes through phases where it says service required.

Ka-band still seems to work OK which is whats important, but does anyone know whats up?
