Re: adding navigation

Check the Nav forum. Anything's possible with the right amount of money. In this case the right amount is $5,000.

Re: adding navigation

It would be very expensive.

Another, much cheaper alternative is to take a look at the new Garmin Street Pilot 2610. I've finally had a chance to use one, and I must say that I'm VERY impressed. Although it's not integrated like a factory navi system, it has all of the important features, and some others features beyond the factory installed system.

And the mapping is excellent-- much better than current DVD mapping areas. Plus, the touch-screen is a benefit.

If I hadn't have ordered my car with navi, I might have given this Street Pilot a harder look. To me, it just seems superior to the factory navigation system in function. Although the factory system is far more integrated with the pop-up screen and all.....

Re: adding navigation

When I bought my sedan, there wasn't one available with the NAV, so I picked up a Streetpilot 2610 for about $700. It is fantastic for all the reasons mentioned, plus it can be moved from vehicle to vehicle, including rental cars when I'm away on business. I will eventually do a stealth power cord install, but for now, I don't mind.
