Don't worry...nobody answered mine either...not so knowledgeable as I thought. Talk about the same stuff over and over...Try the G35 Interchange for some answers.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
I'll answer ya....Those tweets are nice and sound good. I've actually listened to those. Are your friend's one's the exact same model and how much is he selling them to you for?
You might have to check the ohms though since the stock Bose amp and deck run only 2 ohms as opposed to aftermarket 4 ohms.

One question though....why only change the tweets, that might throw off the balance with the other half of the 6.5" seperates. Just a thought....

Re: opinion on tweeters?
Yeah...I was right....those tweets are 4 ohms. Check the features and specs tab @ Crutchfield. They will not do good with stock deck or Bose amp.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
Ahh thank you!! You just saved me $60
I think ill look online for some decent prices on components. I really want some better sq, when listening to cds there is defiantly an audible hiss noise, i was hoping some tweeters would clear this up.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
Get a complete component set. You're gonna be ripping off the entire door panel anyway.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
I went with the Infinity Perfect 6.1 from etronics.com. They sound good. Another good set of components are Eclipses but cost upwards of $500!

Just remember that i f you change the speakers, you have to change out the stock amp, again 2 ohm impendence as opposed to aftermarket amps and speakers that have 4 ohm impedence. Finally, you will need LOC (converters) that run from the stock deck to your amps fi you don't swap out your deck. Then, if you swap out your deck, you need the JDM v35 Skyline Dash parts (including the $220 AC controller) from J's Garage. ITs a never ending process and $$$ unfornuately.

stock deck -> converters (LOC) -> amps -> speakers

Re: opinion on tweeters?
Someone posted saying the Bose tweeters are 4 ohms...

In reply to:

I have confirmed the information given to me by Grubbs and Infiniti tech line regarding speaker impedance levels.

Here is the definitive answer everyone was looking for:

Front door tweeters: 4 ohms nominal
Front door 6.5" woofers: 4 ohms nominal
Rear door 6.5" woofers: 4 ohms nominal
Rear deck 6x9 subwoofers: 2 ohms nominal

Also, the Bose head unit puts out line levels signals which means you do not need a VEN4 line output converter when switching out the Bose amp. However, the base head unit does require a VEN4. It does not output line level signals.

Hope this finally puts a rest to all the speculation.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
gotchaa,

its docron1 from 6mt.net. Your info is right. Still wouldn't depend on the stock bose amp though. If you try it, let me know how it sounds....

Re: opinion on tweeters?
this is the post that makes me wonder.

"In being one of the first with a G35 Sedan and swapping the whole system out, I documented alot of the details about the system. I found the speakers WERE NOT 4 ohm units but rather 6-8 ohm units instead (measuring 8-9 ohms on a standard dc ohm meter). After swapping out just the speakers with Polk EX series speakers (definitely 4 ohm) the Bose amplifier would start clipping when I went past 20-21 on the volume control, thus it seems it definitely wasn't designed for a 4 ohm speaker. I've also posted on this board under 'nextmill' and 'brianlewis' pictures of the stock amplifier, stock subwoofer, stock speakers, stock amplifier opened up (what a piece), as well as pictures and information about my full system upgrade (all speakers including subwoofer and amplifiers)."

Re: opinion on tweeters?
I went with Infinity Reference 1001t 1" Silk Dome Tweeters that can be found on crutchfield.com and I bought them for about $40 shipped off ebay. I'm pretty please with them so far and they do fit behind the grill. They are exactly the same size as stock Bose speakers and instead of screwing into the bracket, I silicone glued them to the bracket. I went from a setting of bass +0 and treble +4 or 5 to bass+0 and treble +1 after the swap. The highs are definitely clearer. I've gone up on the volume with my XM sat to around 27 or 28 without any problems. I used a 10mF capacitor from Radio shack as per other threads.

Re: opinion on tweeters?
Glad to hear you got improvement with a $41.00 mod. I hated the muted highs with the stock tweets.

BTW, I am a Kaiser MD, how bout you?
