Thumbs up Aftermarket DVD nav w/factory bluetooth

So, Im not sure if that has been done yet...But I have an idea to make it work, please correct me if im wrong?

What i was thinking was take apart the factory deck extend the wires splice the dvd/nav wires in w/o speaker leads and basically keep power to the bose hu....than all the steering wheel controls will still work and i just have to worry about the volume ****...id run the wires to either the glovebox or trunk or under seat etc..

In theory will that work?

sounds horridly complex and unlikely to work. I know for some GM vehicles they do a kit like this to relocate the OEM stereo into the trunk so that the a/c controls still work etc...
why not just get an aftermarket nav system with bluetooth and a steering wheel control adapter?
