Cant you use the old one? I keep staring at pictures, it looks like the same thing, why cant you just buy the DD plastic and use OEM ac controler that you already have

LOl stop staring at it because it looks the same. The OEM Ac controller is connected to radio, lets just say that the circuit board is all in one piece. You can't use it.

There are many threads about this with pictures. Do a little more reading and you will see. But it's because the AC controller shares a circuit board with the radio and you can't separate them.

That picture is for an 05-07 coupe dash. Your 03-04 coupe dash is different and so is the DD trim piece.

All 03-07 G35 coupes and 03-06 G35 sedans have a circuit board shared between the radio and the AC controller.

so if you have a professional installer do it for you, do you have to bring in the new ac controller or will they normally provide for it? If it must be purchased, do I need to get it from the dealership?

Check out our forum sponsers,

Everythingg35.com should have them along with grubbsperformance.com. Your installer should be able to order it, but I would check with them to see what they will charge you for it.
