No GPS in this 2004 g35 coupe...questions concerning aftermarket

OK..so ive used the search function and seen some of your guys DVD/nav cd players...questions below

1.) On the non-nav G35, there is alittle DIN there...can i rip the bottom out and make a retractable DVD/nav player out of it using a aftermarket one?

because mostof the ones i see you guys have, it just sticks up outa there...i need something slicker and more stock looking.

2.) On the stock Nav systems, can you play DVD's or anything? or is it just pure nav and car management? can you rig it to play? switch out the screen?

3.) is the 2003 Nav system junk?

If you just want to run video and not try to make an OEM navigation system, mp3car.com has some nice retractible modles.

Has anyone actually used this set-up before? I guess the "slide down when not in use" isn't power?

I want to get some opinions on difficulty of install, reliability/usability of the screen etc.

Apparently the model 700TSV can have GPS hooked up to it.

^^Agree. I find a lot of posts with the nav alternatives to be outdated. I have an 06 sedan and mp3car.com is out of stock (appears indefinitely) for the screen and housing. Even other forums have old posts in 06 and 07 that refer to this site that no longer offers it. I'd like to do what zitware.com did on these forums adding a mini mac and hading his free software for private use so it's very user friendly interface touchscreen with all the options of windows/linux as well. Thanks!
