DDIN HU accessory placement

I've read through many of the posts here and have a pretty good handle on all that is required to do the install. I am planning on installing an Eclipse AVN6610 with bluetooth, Sirius traffic and Ipod modules. I've only heard that it is pretty tight behind the dash. I don't currently have nav, will the modules fit behind there or are you placing them in other creative spots?

Thanks

There is no way that any modules will fit behind the HVAC!! that is really funny...lol

there is a space that has room for a module(s) behind the plastic piece located in the front passenger foot well to the extreme right underneath the lower glove compartment.

You just have to snap off the 2 clips near the passenger door jam and then remove the plastic screw nut that attaches the plastic piece to the floor screw. I think the space is about 5x12"(?). There were people who used that space to mount their avelectronic unit (meatshackle aka Russ used this space I think)

Upper cubby might work as this is the place the stock nav module goes but space is pretty tight in there. You would have to remove the stock upper cubby and fashion a custom box to house a module. I currently have my DVD player mounted in there.

Hope this helps.....

Are you talking about the kick panels? I was planning on putting at least a tweeter and maybe a mid here, so there probalby won't be room there. I like the idea of the cubby though, at least for one of them but if I could get both the bt and Sirius in there that would be great. i guess if I used the storage above the glove that might work also since it's not really good for anything else anyway it's so small. Thanks for the suggestions.

yeah...kick plate....there is a nice hidden spot up there. The other thing you could do is place the module at the head of the passenger foot well and create a false floor and cover is with the existing carpet. I think there was a recent install that did this.

Once you get things apart installing the HU, I think you will be able to find room for small modules.

^^ There is room around the HU, just maybe not right behind it.
