I'm a newby to both this forum and to my Infiniti. I recently purchased a 2003 G35 couple with the auto transmission, and absolutely love it. I have made the car remote start several times with the key fob. However it is very inconsistent when i can get the car to do this. Was there ever a stock remote start on these cars? If not, how would you suggest going about to find out what remote start I have, and how to operate it. Thanks.

 

I never really knew you could do that... what buttons are you pressing to get it to remote start...?

 

I pressed and released the lock, then pressed and held the lock button. I had to hold it about 5-10 seconds and it fired right up. I haven't been able to do it since though.

 

im 99.9999% sure the factory does not have a remote start. I would try looking around maybe in your engine bay area for an aftermarket alarm wiring.

did you buy the car new? i'm 100% sure our car DO NOT come with factory remote starter.

dig around the engine bay, around the clutch/brake fluid resovoir to see if there's any wire going into your cabin. and look under the driver kick panel. there should be something.

 

A little digging goes a long way I guess. Popped the hood and the label stuck out at me like a sore thumb. That label is attached to the battery cover. Now I just need to find out when the controller is so I can get a manual to figure out how to run it. Anyone else have a remote start similar to this one? I attached a picture of the car just for good measure.
