drivers side front lower speaker turning on and off intermittently... help

Most people said its related to the BOSE HU but the problem is I have an avic-d3 in there and it's installed by a good installer (16psibrick). What's up with the speaker?

Had the same issue with my 04 sedan. Turned out to be the HU, I had it replaced under warranty.

but like I said, I don't have the BOSE HU anymore but a pioneer avic-d3.
I hear something from the door though like a loose wire or something but it seems to be closer to the back.

i realize that at really low volumes the mentioned speaker would turn off but when i crank it up a little, it turns on.

Hmmm...I had the same problem but that was when I had the stock HU, and when that would happen I would just give the HU a nice solid hit and it worked fine again. Perhaps it is a problem with your aftermarket HU. I havent had any problems with mine though (kenwood dnx7100) but I also dont have the stock speakers anymore. Try taking it back to the installer and see what they say.

Do you just have the D3 HU and stock amp/speakers? If so, there have been problems reported with the clipping of the front speakers due to the something wrong with the Bose amp. Could there be a faulty wire connection with the speaker wire harness between your D3 and stock wire harness.

But, if you also swapped out your stock amp/speakers with aftermarkets, it could be a loose speaker wire at the amp or a loose wire at the speakers or something going on behind the HU with the RCA interconnect.

Hope this helps.....

You must have a loose connection somewhere.
