G35 & iPhone

Hi guys,

I just recently purchased the iPhone and would like to use it in my car (handsfree). For those with iPhone, have you had any problems pairing the phone? My iPhone says its paired with the bluetooth in my car, but when i call someone i cant use the speakers & mic to make the call. Also, another question i have is-can i use bluetooth to play any music that i have stored in my iPhone?

Please help!

You cant stream from music from the iphone to the car through bluetooth. The iphone doesnt have voice recognition so saying a name won't make the call. Push the steering wheel button say "call" and select the contact you want to call from the iphone's contact list. If you know the phone number you want to call press steering wheel button say "call" and say the phone number ex. 555-555-5555.

i didnt buy an iPhone for ringtones, dude. If you cant appreciate the technology behind an iPhone, i really dont know what to tell ya

anyway, the phone works fine with the car's bluetooth, i guess it just didnt work that one time, and i decided to post about it. Next time it worked fine, and has been. bummer that we cant stream music from the iPhone, altho that would have been awesome!!!

You can use the iphone with the factory ipod adapter. Locks out the ipod function but the phone works normally otherwise. Didn't recieve a call while i had it connected so i don't know how that would work, but i imagine the bt should just pick it up and run with it. I will say i got an email and the music muted for a brief second.. which i'm assuming is when the iphone itself went "ding" for the new msg. Just didn't come through the speakers.

I didn't try selecting different playlists. It also has more of a "tinny" sound to it than my 80g ipod at the same stereo settings.

I don't have an answer to the bluetooth question, but I recently had the USA-Spec iPod/AUX adapter installed. It connects where an external CD changer would. It provides a connector for the iPod. You use the ipod to load a playlist and you can start/stop/next/prev from the steering wheel or console.

Alternatively you can connect a regular MP3 player to the separate headphone connector, but you cannot control it with the car.
