Best DVD player that fits in upper glovebox?

Not sure if this has been covered, but I tried searching and didn't really find anything.

What's the best DVD player that fits in the upper glovebox for our coupes? It can be ones made specifically for car stereos or even portable units as long as it has RCA outputs and 12V power (i.e. cigarette lighter adapter).

Here is an excerpt from a thread I posted from 1/05:
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...highlight=pyle

I installed god_of_cpu's (aka Chuck) Xenarc 7" screen mod into the navi cubby. After some minor adjustments and SOME GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT from Chuck, it works like a charm. Beautiful LCD display and smooth raising and lowering of screen. www.digitalwheelz.com

"Installed Pyle DVD player into upper glovebox using god_of_cpu's single DIn adapter. You need a DVD player or HU that is less than 6.5" deep. I originally bought a Blaupunkt ME3 DVD player but was waaay too deep. Looks very stealth, stock and plays great. The Pyle unit dropped right into the slot and is about 6" deep x 2" high x7" wide."

FYI, there is not much space in that upper glovebox since it is very shallow due to the passenger airbag support bracket that sits back there.

The Pyle DVD player has RCA outputs for the audio and a video out that hooks up to my Xenarc screen (also created by chuck aka god_of_cpu). Power is via the 12V power plug on the passenger side. Works well. I'll post pictures as soon as I take some so you can see what it looks like.

BTW, I think chuck's new website is www.streetdeck.com. I don't think he is still making the xenarc screens nor is he making the DIN adapter for the upper glovebox anymore. You might want to PM him and see if he responds.

hope this helps...

BTW, whatever you think about installing into that upper glvoebox, it cannot have a deeper mount than 6 inches max if you want the glovebox door to close flush. Again, what limits the depth is the passenger airbag metal support bracket.

here are some pix for my setup.....
