Metra's Dash Kit - Rubber Button

Hi,

I'm going to give up my manufacture head unit (cd got stuck) and go for DD.

The only thing i don't like about Metra's DD dash kit is the rubber button. Is that possible to replace this rubber button by the button from my existing manufacture head unit?

For your info., my 03.5 without dual climate control.

Thanks.

Not possible at all. Just get the JDM one if you can. The finish looks so much cleaner than the Metra. I mean it is all up to how you feel on quality too.

Quality is very important to me. If the color doesnt match, then i know it would bother me to no end. SO, do you mean the JDM one can maintain to stock heater controls??

metra allows stock function, however the buttons cannot be removed. I hear the color match isn't 100 percent either.

I checked with Metra tech support. They said it can't be done. I installed the kit and they don't look bad at all. Just like anything else in life, it's in the eyes of the beholder.

Even my picky wife is happy with it.

i'm using the bracket that the bose was in. it's not a perfect fit but i think it will work fine.

i used the DD kit from riverside. i only had to switch the dual AC button as the LED was already presoldered into the new circuit board

Quick questions... why do you need the JDM climate control if you purchase the DD console alone?
