iPhone & Bluetooth in my car
Hey there,
Did a search for more info but things were just not so clear. I just got an iPhone yesterday and the Bluetooth seems to be acting shady. In all my old Bluetooth phones (Treo, Razr, etc.), I would have to pair the phone to my car once and have the car set as a "trusted device" in my phone. Then whenever I am in the car, the phone would pair up automatically and would unpair when I am out of the car. If I wanted to call from my phone's contact list, I just select the person and then hit my phone's Send button and it would automatically be done through the car's Bluetooth.
Now with the iPhone, I paired up the car and the phone, but the iPhone's Bluetooth menu says that the phone and the car are paired 24/7. When I am in the car and make a call through iPhone whether from contact list or keypad, it only works on the phone itself. When I hit the call button on the steering wheel of car and select one of the voice-dialing-programmed numbers (of the car's voice-dialing directory, NOT the iPhone), the car will dial the # through the phone and I can talk via handsfree. Unfortunately, I am not a popular guy and have not been called while in my car yet so I dunno if the call will ring on my iPhone only, or will my car's stereo system ring as well (the way it is supposed to be)????
Any info is appreciated,
Thanks,
MrElussive
P.S. Yes I searched before I posted.

receiving a call is worse. it will ring once then drops the call for 1 sec and then locks the call. it's funny that i have to wait 2 sec to talk so I stop using the bluetooth altogether. I was hoping the new updated would fix the problem, but I guess not.
my iphone and bluetooth work great...i had problems when i had my jawbone and my car as devices...but since i only use my BT in the car...i removed the jawbone and it works great...when i get a call both my phone and stereo ring...ipod pauses and the call comes through
I have an 06 coupe 5AT Premium Nav...I have the iphone. Works fine. Actually works better than my Razor did.
Try deleting out the entire setup for any phone that was in there and redo the entire setup.
