More AVIC-D3 Questions

I attached some of the wires from the Metra 70-7551 kit to the avic harness.

i've attached the two power wires together, the red ACC and the yellow battery.

after that, i attached the orange illumination wires

then i attached the white/black front speaker metra harness plugs into the white/red front output plugs from the avic harness

i did the same for the green/purple metra and the white/red avic

i have four unconnected metra wires.

the white/black is the amp ground. the white/blue is the amp turn-on. the black is the ground, and the blue is the power antenna

i'm not sure what to do with these four wires, i'm assuming since i don't have a power antenna, i can leave that one untouched.

should i ground the black wire? also, what should i do with the other two? the amp ground and amp turn-on

i'm waiting for my PAC steering wheel adapter to come and then i'm finally going to put everything back in

thanks for everyone's help

i forgot to ask, do i have to attach the speed and reverse sensors?

where do i attach the speed sensor to?

also, where can i find a better frame? the frame the avic came with doesn't actually cover the screen area; i can see a noticeable gap. plus i can't get the frame to fit into the DD kit i bought from riverside

These cars have an FM antenna amplifier that switches on with the radio. Connect the power antenna wire to the Metra harness.

I had no unused wires in my last installation using a wire harness adapter.

I had the same issues. Here is the answer:

The Blue/White is connected to a Blue/white wire of Avic with the label "Remote Control" (Take a look a page 13 of your Avic manual).

The black/White wire is not needed.

The Reverse Signal is Orange, pin 11 (I'm not sure if it's in M57 or M39 plug) is not needed unless you plan to install a rear camera.

The VSS is the light white/green wire (Pin 18 of the M39 plug)

Good luck

thinhdle thanks for all of your help.
I looked it up and the reverse wire is the M57 plug, but the service manual says the M57 is behind the navigation unit. Where do we go about accessing it since our cars don't have navi.

VSS = vehicle speed sensor = pink wire?

So would i take pin 18 out of the M39 plug and splice them together?

I believe the pink wire is from the AVIC. The VSS from the car is White/Green.

Don't pull anywire, go to Radio shack or Home Depot and by some wiretap. This is the easiest to do.
