Need some help picking a new speaker setup.

I'm looking at replacing all of my speakers in my coupe and wanted some help choosing the speakers.

I'll be keeping the stock Bose HU (for now) but ditching the stock Bose amp.

What I've had my eyes on are:

DLS Ultimate Nobelium 6.2's
Focal 162 K2P

Also I am trying to decide what amp to power them with. They are both 100w RMS speakers but the Focals have a 200w peak over the DLS's 160w peak.

I want to power them with JL amps either the 300/4 or the 450/4.

The 300/4 does 75w x 4ch, the 450/4 does 150w x 2ch + 75w x 2ch

I would think the 300/4 would be under powering either setup, the 450/4 can overpower them but can trim the gain back to keep them happy.

I would like to hear some opinions from those who have heard both setups.

I like to listen to rock and r&b music.

TIA!

The JL Audio 300/4 is perfect. I have the 300/4 running my Boston Acoustics Pro 60 series components and it gets the job done perfectly.

SQ wise, would there be any benefit to running a more powerful amp (450/4) and just trimming the gain down?

no, the 300/4 will handle the load. I have the 450/4 in my G and a 300/4 in my Armada running all non-sub speakers. If you opt for the 450, you won't use all the power. The same could probably be said for the 300/4.

Any comments on my speaker choice? The Focals or DLS?
