Navigation Update Question

I have a 03 coupe with the Navi. It had the 6.1 verision in it, but I just ordered the 6.6 update. Besides updating more maps, can I expect any other upgrades to come with the 6.6 verision. For example, more options, better graphics, or anything of that nature?

Thanks for the help!

You can eject the DVD and just look at the version label on the disc.

I think most of the functionality (gui, options, etc) is built into the unit itself. The dvd is just map data pretty much.

I just upgraded from 7.1 to 7.3 and it seems a tiny bit faster/less lag when 'flying' around the map. It also has much much better Iowa map coverage. (Only one infiniti dealer in iowa anyway.. they are very rare here)

I think the upgrade is worth doing if you use your nav much. Its annoying to be driving along and your navigation thinks you are in the middle of a field or if it gets confused because the roads got changed.

Man, I "updated" my 04 Nav through Zenrin and now I can barely get any routes calculated successfully from my house!!!!

Talk about crap. Now, when I know I am going somewhere that won't calculate I have to enter it the day before when I am at work, let it calculate and then turn it off.

The next day I can pull it up as a previous destination while driving once I am far enough away from my house and enter it then.

What BS. The first time this happened I was traveling from MD to NC and had just gotten the car ready for the trip, all cleaned up, new Nav DVDs. Get in the car and NOTHING! "Route cannot be calculated"! Never had a problem with the old discs, even though at the time the Nav didn't even have my street listed yet b/c it was new!! Now the disc has all of the new street info. and can't work.

WTF? Man, I was hot. We ended up taking my wife's Garmin while my $2000 Nav system sat there like a limp dic*

And, there are no new features.

Im having the same problem. I just updated to the 6.6, I bought a back up copy off of the forum. Nothing CALCS!! Every time i try to locate something it says "No Data found" or "can not successfuly calculate route". I never had this problem with my old Map DVD. What can I do? Do you find a few to relieve this issue, Im not sure what you ment about "I have to enter it the day before"---Help!!!

I remember reading that the data disc isn't enough and that you need an upgrade disc to go with it. I never actually got any information from Zenrin as the data disc just worked for me. Send Zenrin an email saying you got your disc on eBay and tell them what's going on and see what they say. Maybe you'll be able to get just the update disc.
