Has anyone tried painting their dash kit to match the color of the dash?

I'm going to purchase the Metra 99-7604 dash kit, but from the pics I've seen at webstores and here, it is kind of a dark grey/charcoal color and my interior is black and I want it to match and not stickout like a sore thumb.

I was going to get the kit from Riverside, but since the JDM kit doesn't have the dual climate button and is $100 more, I just don't think it's worth it. I wish the metra kit had plastic buttons that looked a little more OEM, but I can learn to live with that part.

I bought the JDM Kit. It's good, and you can make that Dual Climate button works.

Painting the dash will cost you about same (of the difference) if professionally done.
