Yes. Technically, the ability to play CD-R's is not supported. Everytime my player has jammed, they specifically ask me if there are burned discs in it (looking for a scapegoat, I guess). (I was using standard audio CD's everytime, btw.) If you look in the manual, it says to only use CD's with the Compact Disc - Digital Audio label. CD-R's say Compact Disc - Recordable instead. Note, I didn't say that it won't play them, just that they're "unsupported" by the manufacturer.
I'd recommend you not use labels on your CD-R's, though.. just a Sharpie marker.
