Dual Climate Control Button with DD Install

I have searched already and can not find a concrete answer. What is the purpose of soldering the old Dual Climate Control button and LED on the JDM AC Controller?

Is it just for the look of having the look of the Dual Button rather than the dummy button?

Or, is it becuse you will regain use of the Dual Climate Control?

You don't need to solder it if your car is not equipped with Dual air function. I did mine because I want the LED to light up as well as using my dual air. Most of all it looks better than a blank button don't you think?

Yes, all you have to do is solder the resistor 242 and led to blank spot and it will work.

I don't know how did your guys remove this little tiny resistor and solder it to the new circuit board. I took a look at it and gave up.

Anyway, I'm happy with the metra dash kit.

I used a soldering iron (not a soldering gun - unless yours has a small tip) and some small needle nose pliars.
