Alarm/Remote Start on IntelliKey Equiped Cars

So I got my Viper 5900 alarm/remote start installed on my '06 coupe with intelligent key. Everything works perfectly! The only thing I didn't like is that even if I want to just push the button on the handle to unlock the door, I'd have to also press unlock on the viper remote to disarm the alarm. So my question is, is it possible to link the intellikey to the viper remote?

I have been thinking to install a remote start on my 08 G35x too... but when I asked the dealer, they said it wouldn't work with the intelligent key.

Good to know you got it to work

Yeah, I was afraid it wouldn't work after hearing all these stories. But my friend said it will work and I trust him since he has installed remote starts on many cars equipped with intellikeys before.

I need to know if it's possible to link the ikey with the viper. If it is, then maybe it is possible to remote start with the ikey

a few of the dealers in the Chicago area install a module that lets you keep the stock i-key and give you remote start. its like $500 for the install plus the cost of another i-key.

Ok, I think that mx22o is being missunderstood. He already has the remote start/alarm installed and working as it should, but, just as his first post stated, he is asking if he can get the intellikey to interface with his viper so that when he presses the button on the handle to open the door, it also disarms his viper alarm without doing anything else. The answer to this is no. How could you possibly hope to get this to work with one another? When your viper starter/alarm is doing it's thing, it's doing it totally independant of the intellikey system. And when the intellikey system is doing it's thing, it's doing it totally independant of the viper. There is no way to interface the two. It's really asking too much, and it's the same as if you were to physically put your key in the door lock and hope that the viper disarms the system when you turn the key to unlock the door.....not going to happen. Would be nice though huh? And this applies to all remote start/alarms. You cannot get them to work together by hoping to use one particular feature from one system that operates the other system.

How the two work side-by-side is just that.....they work side-by-side, and not together. The viper is bypassing the intellikey which is allowing the vehicle to be remote started and locked/unlocked, and whatever other funtions you have the viper doing. I know it seems like a waste to have the intellikey with it's buttons and whatnot on it with you, along with the viper remote, and really not be able to use the intellikey's buttons, but that's just the nature of the beast. When I had my CompuStar Pro installed into my CR-V, I removed my factory remote from keychain and put it into a drawer at home.....no need for it anymore.

There is a solution.. Its simple.

You will need to sacrifice your VIPER remote to make this happen. I did this a while back to create my own custom garage door interface in my 96 mazda way back in 98.

Your viper remote works of buttons which you can break apart and solder some leads to the button terminals. All you effectively are doing, is the follwoing:

1. Tap into the door panel, for the power unlock. When a pulse is sent to the door unlock, you can tap a wire there to run a mini relay which would inturn pulse the viper remote to disarm.
2. Its the same ofr the lock, where it will pulse the viper remote to arm it again.

You will need to carry the viper remote (another one), so taht you can have the ability to do other things, but htis method is UNTESTED, and its my crude method of getting things to work.

This is what i did with my garage door interface. I tapped the doors button in the RF transmitter. My alarm would send a pulse to the RF transmitter and automatically open the garage door, when i remote started!

after you remote start, do you have to have the key with you when you drive off? and do you still have to turn the key?
