What are the options with regard to a replacement faceplate/kit for the Bose that comes with the G35? Like the one mentioned here in post #1 (assuming he had the Bose).

I have the Bose and as far as I know you can either get the din from Infiniti/Nissan or the Metra kit.

IMO though I'd go w/ the OEM. The Metra is aiight but it just doesnt have the same look and the buttons look questionable. It all depends on preference though.

Help out if yall know something I don't...

Thanks... so this din kit from Infiniti - does it simply fill the hole vacated by the Bose and make a standard aftermarket unit fit correctly?

Yeah, it comes with the dash kit and the A/C controls. Ordered the kit from Riverside Infiniti off ebay.

I got lucky and found them on ebay for a decent price...it was either them or the Kappa Perfects, which I still LOVE...but I have a homeboy that has the Quarts so I wanted to give them a try.

can u not use the newer iPod adaptor? the CD-IB100II is SUPER slow, the newer one is a lot better. I had the IB100II on my old Pioneer and hated it, it literally scrolled one artist at a time. Maybe it's different on the Z2, but I dunno. On my D3 I got the new one, and it's a lot cheaper too.

have u ever listened to the QSD speakers before? Ive listened to a fellow G member's car who had a pair of mb's, with 6 1/2's installed in the doors w/ everything dampened. The car wasnt tuned right but the midbass is definitely lacking. I would much rather get a pair of iridiums from bing, and im not just saying that because i own a pair. But if you have listened to them before and like them then its all good.

Thumbs up

Install finally COMPLETE...partially lol.

The install is just about wrapped up and I for one can say the MB Quart QSD's SOUND AMAZING!!!!!

I don't know the model my homeboy had in his car...maybe he just didn't eq er'thing right but this sounds great. I like these better than my Kappa Perfects in my other car. I have an orchestra cd somewhere that imma put to the test. From the cds I've listened to though the mids aren't that bad at all.

The 4080 box sounds great and clean and I can't wait till the 500/1 gets here to swap it out with the Sony (which shockingly sounds pretty decent) I know that the sub is not at its full potential though so imma see how much of a difference the extra power makes. The Sony I think is rated @ 300 rms.

The Avic Z2 is pretty decent minus the bypass issues. Love the navigation and the voice recognition seems to work right the few times I've tried it. Takes a lil while to boot up (I guess while it finds the satellites) but its nothing too aggravating. Only gripe is that Pioneer took out the support for WMA's. Half of my cd collection is in that format so imma have to re-encode to mp3 or burn em directly on the decks HD. I haven't used the ipod apapter as of yet so I don't know how slow it is.

All thats left is to hopefully redo the bypass for the Z2 (I think the install shop f'd up and won't admit it so I can't play movies while driving using the bypass they did), swap the amps, and set up another "wall/door" concealing the amps and cap. After that then I'll fatmat the trunk definitely and maybe the doors but they sound decent as is.

Will keep u updated and thanks for the feedback!!!

Whats good people?

Well the 500/1 FINALLY came and I threw it in yesterday. Well I noticed a difference but not the dramatic one that I was expecting, but the amp still needs to be tweaked. I need to do some readjusting of some wires and then I'll get some pics for you.

I'm getting ready to Dynamat the trunk and the license plate in about 5 mins and I'll shoot a few more pics of this work in progress.

Sorry updates are a lil slow. I was waitin on the amp and plus its gettin too cold to do all this sh*t lol.
