Metra DD Kit - 99-7604

Seems like this only comes in silver/gray.

I have a black dash.

Anybody know if this is avail in black?
I like the fact that this works w/ dual climate so I do
prefer this one to other kits.

just get the jdm skyline kit, it will work with dual climate control too, just need to solder the dual button on, not that complicated. anyway, it looks a lot better than the metra

After seeing the Metra and JDM kit in person I can say the JDM kit is of superior quality. However if you want cheap money and material wise then go Metra.

So why is the JDM so much better than the Metra especially considering you have to take a soldering iron to the JDM.

Am I totally missing something?
Looking at the photos of the Metra, all the button controls look just like
the stock HU. So what exactly is so terrible about the Metra.

Also, I tried finding the JDM kit on the web but w/ no luck.
Can someone provide a link if you would be so kind.

here is the 03-04 metra kit, even though the OP did not think it was metra, it is:
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=metra

compare it to the JDM kit posted above, the buttons are not flush, do not look oem, and as a whole just doesn't look clean. but if that's what you want, go for it. also if you do go with metra, from what i've seen, they can paint it to match any factory interior color

Thank you, I see the difference between the buttons.
I think the difference is pretty subtle, but I do see your point.

My main concern is matching the color. Do either of these
come in black?

I've really tried finding a black kit on the web and haven't turned
up anything. Also, on ebay I've seen the simulated wood dash trim kit, is this
something that can be used? Just asking.

Is this din kit good quality? If I bought this kit and installed an Avic-z2, would I need anything else besides the wiring harnesses for a clean install?

BTW-On Japanparts.com, the part number you'll have to enter in the search field is 083-022-004

So I'll also need the a/c kit if I go with the dual din?

My understanding is that the "JDM Kit", which seems to be made for the Skyline in Japan ( Infiniti G35) contains two parts.

1. The double-din piece, the "lid cluster" is what japanparts.com calls it,
or "finisher" is another term I've heard

2. "a/c control assembly" or a/c kit.
(this kit requires soldering for dual climate control)

The only other Double din kit that I am aware of for a G35 is Metra.
The Metra kit (Turbo II) seems to include both the finisher and a/c controls in one kit.
(this kit does not require soldering for dual climate control and
does support dual climate control)

Buttons on a/c control for Metra do not perfectly resemble Infiniti stock a/c control buttons.

AC Controllers are sold sepeartely... We have pleanty instock...

I do have black dash kits on the way but do not have an eta...

I do have Silver and Willow dash finisher kits instock...

I only have AC controllers with black buttons instock... Mainly because I think the brown buttons would look off with the black aftermarket head unit... I can special order the brown button ac controllers if willing to wait for them...
