Having owned a 12w7 w. a 1000/1 all I can say is that if you have a "budget" then don't go with the w7. It's a great sub, the thing sounded incredible especially since it was in a custom box in my camaro, but the damn thing just loved to suck the power out of my car. Even though I had 2 batteries, a 1.5 farad cap and an Ohio generator 250 amp alternator I still couldn't give it enough power and this is running 0 gauge throughout the whole car. Basically I put in the best parts that money could buy ( I used to run a car stereo shop and got everything at cost) and it still wasn't enough for the sub. But the damn thing sounded so nice, it was very crisp and clean. So, I say go with a w6 less power demands and like any JL sub the damn thing is gonna sound sweet (if you want a crisp and clean sound).

i have a JL 10w7 with 500.1 amp. if put it back into my G coupe will im scared it may be too much bass. it will drown out the words to the songs with all the deep bass correct? how does it sound with the stock HU? i kno in my TL i had to get a new HU in order to set my EQ so i can hear more lyrics to songs and that worked great. i dont want to mess with the headunit in the G tho. what should i do?
