if anyone here plans on leaving the bose stock,you MUST do replace the stock tweets,and add the 10uf cap.i just did this and holy sheet i can hear the letter s and cymbals.this is the easiest and cheapest mod.i am now very happy with the bose.you can remove the tweet cover w/out removing the whole door panel.just remove the plastic buttons on the side and carefully pull the tweet cover up and out.i love this mod.do it.

 

Do you have the sedan or coupe? I had not heard that you could replace the tweeters without taking off the door panel!

i have the sedan.it can be done.just be careful.start by taking out the 2 plastic buttons on the far edge of the panel near the door jam,then pull out towards your body the top of the tweet cover,it will unsnap.then carefully slide the panel towards the door jam while pulling gently out on the door panel.with a little pulling,it will come out.i replaced my tweets and resoldered a cap in,in 30 mins both sides.good luck
