Question Anybody Here installed a single din deck with the lower pocket?

I find it hard to believe anyone whos swapped out there deck with their G35 have spent $800 plus on a fancy touch screen double din deck? Is there anyone whos just gone the regular route and got a single din deck and had the pocket below? I mean you are already spending $270 on the double din kit I just want to spend $300-$450 on a nice single din deck plus the $270 for double din kit. Any pictures or suggestions on a good color lcd deck? Oh and also what pocket will fit the G35 that looks clean with no modification?

Someone local has a single-din Pioneer radio. He cut out a piece of carbon fiber to fill the din opening.

Just the other day, I saw a pic of a G with a normal radio and a pocket. I wanna say Nissan pockets will work (aftermarket pockets made for Nissan cars)

True and now that I'm seeing what you have to do to install just a single din it looks much better to just go with a double din unit.
