Exclamation Infinity Hidden Sub installed - pics

I just finished installing my car stereo. What I'm most proud of is the custom sub enclosure.
I agreed on a custom subwoofer enclosure that would fit next to the spare tire. The beauty of this is that I did not loose ANY trunk space and it is completely hidden from view.

Link to my car audio progress page (For whatever reason, only displays properly with I.E.)

Re: Infinity Sub installed - pics

very nice indeed.

I have the non-bose as well (for EXACTLY the same reasons you said), and up until 5 minutes ago, I was all set on fiberglass. enclosure either in back left corner or front left corner of trunk.

And now..... that has all changed.

Which jbl amp were you going to get to go to your speakers? I was going to do a 600.1 for my sub, and either 10" or 12"... depends

is that custom enclosure sealed or ported?

I'm guessing sealed cause you need less volume for sealed?

why fiberglass bottom? Is the bottom of the trunk (under the enclosure) not flat, so you needed to use fiberglass?

I was going to do the enclosure myself, and I probably still will, but just curious, how much these guys charger for just the enclosure?

Thanks.

Re: Infinity Sub installed - pics

another quick question.

You used line output converters. Why not use the built in jbl 300.1 LOC?

Is the buitl in one just crap, or did you already have the PAC's or something? Thanks.

Very nice setup!

I looked at your website and I saw that you used RMB6's. Did those go in the side or the rear deck?

Re: Infinity Sub installed - pics

How are the amp and distribution block mounted? Directly to the back of the seat or is there some sort of wood cutt-out attached to the seat? Thanks. btw looks really good.

RadYOacTVe,
The Kicker RMB6 midbass drivers are located on sides of the rear seats.

justICE,
The amps and power distribution block are mounted directly on the back seat.

Thanks for the compliments!

Re: Infinity Sub installed - pics

First off, that is a great job on the system. The installers did a great job hiding the sub and creating a nice sealed box for the subs. What I would like to know is how much you spend on the whole install and if it's possible to fit a 12" sub there? I have a 12" Eclipse sub and an Xtant amp from a previous install that I would like to use in my G. Also, are you in the NY/NJ/CT/Philly area? Would like to know the place that you had the install done at. Thanks.

No, that's not a NY job. It looks to me like the work of The Good Guys on Canoga and Victory in Woodland Hills, CA. But that's just my guess based on the craftsmanship. LoL.

Re: Infinity Sub installed - pics

Yes, I had the enclosure made at Good Guys in Woodland Hills, CA.

I had a falling out with them today. There customer service after the sale is abysmal. I no longer recommend them as a result.

Gs_G_Ride,
Sorry, I don't have the template anymore. I believe you can make one with the plastic (?) piece from your car.

Love the idea. I just picked up my first g35 and was looking for some ideas for the system but was having issues with the small trunk space...might use this idea.
