adding aftermarket amp/sub, require rca line out?
i plan on keeping everything factory, but only want to add my sub and amp in my coupe, i hear you need some sort of rca lineout thingy, can someone point me out which one to get, a good one that wont give me distoration or anything, i heard ppl talking about PAC and ven4, which one is good, and i plan on taking my car to cartoys for them to install, shouldnt they already have lineout convertors there for me?

both are considered good. The ven4 can be used to connect 2 separate patchcords so if you plan on adding another amp later, you won't have to buy another one.
Cartoys will have LOC's available. They probably won't have the ven4 though. You can get them online.

I never haggle on labor. I believe you get what you pay for.
As for the LOC, I just installed my system and the installers recomended that I use the PAC SNI-35 LOC. link
I'm pleased with my install. No engine noise or static.
Who is installing the amp for you?
BLKSNAKE - '04 G35 Coupe

I'm sure that most loc's are good quality but I have no experience with anything besides a PAC or the Ven4. A single pac loc should run 25-35 which would depend on the store. I have a PAC that I used in my sedan for a month before I upgraded to 2 amps. PM me if you're interested in it. The ven4 runs ~50 off the net. Try autosoundgear.com for the ven4 if that's the route you want to go.
90-100 is not great but they're not totally ripping you off either. If you have the bose with the amp in the trunk, it's not that hard. If you don't and they have to take the dash apart to attach the loc, then 90-100 is not out of line.

Re: adding aftermarket amp/sub, require rca line out?
well im not sure if i have the bose amp or not, i have the 2004 g35 coupe without the premium system, so does that mean no? if i have the bose amp, i can add an aftermarket amp to push my sub right? and they just run the LOC from the bose amp into my after market amp? or how? I'll just get any LOC at the shop
and to answer the question, Car toys is the shop name, i plan to get my amp and sub installed at... i might have to go with 1 JL w87 with a 500/1
anyone have this setup? i dont wanna get rid of the spare... i hope 1 8w7 will be good enuff, if not i might have to get 2 8w7, but not sure if that would fit...

you can get the bose system without the premium but it sounds like you don't have it.
They would have to take the dash apart, and put the loc in line there for best results. The 8w7 will be fine. You might want to reconsider the 500/1 though. The 8w7 will probably be able to take it but it might be too much if the gains are set incorrectly. If you are just planning on having 1 sub, get the 250/1. If you are planning on having 2 8w7's get a 10w7 in the first place and be done with it. The 500/1 will work great with the 10.
Also, try to get as many accessories off the net or elsewhere because Car Toys will rape you on them. I got an estimate on an install there once and the accessories for 2 amps was over $275. They wanted over $4 a foot on 1/0 gauge wire and $40 bucks for a circuit breaker, etc. I went online and got even better accessories for $180.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
