taking out spare to fit 1 12sub

for those who have removed there spare to fit a box in there, does it fit well? i have 1 12 ported box i want to put in the trunk, but it looks like i will need to get rid of the spare in order to fit...

but arent you guys afraid you might need that spare if your tire goes out? then what? is there another place you can put the spare? this is the only reason keeping me from wanting to rid of the spare

Most people will use the roadside assistance program if they get a flat.

Roadside assistance is nice, but they don't drive around carrying spare tires, do they? I would think that they would use the spare you're supposed to have in your trunk. Correct me if I'm wrong.

btw - does anyone know if the spare is more like the front tire or rear? Since it's my understanding that the fornt and rear tires are different.

the spare is a space saver so it's smaller then the front or rear. You could always get a can of fix a flat. I had that in my last car that I took out the spare, didn't need to use it though. I don't know if it would affect the pressure monitor system, anyone know?

yeah, the fix a flat is just for emergencies and you'll have to replace the tire if I'm not mistaken.

You guys are smart. Definately don't use fix a flat. If you have a flat with no spare tire, dont call roadside assistance. Best thing to do is to have your spare tire on the side of your house or accessable for a friend to pick it up for you when you need it.
BTW how much does the spare, jack, & tools that they give us weigh?

According to page 5-4 in the owners manual, Fix-A-Flat WILL mess up the tire pressure sensors...
